Heal at the root.
Feel like yourself again.
Online EMDR and trauma-informed therapy for teens, college students, young adults, women, and families in New Jersey, Virginia, and North Carolina — from wherever you feel safest. Honest work. A calm pace. Real change.
This isn't endless venting.
It's work that actually moves.
We look past surface-level symptoms and process what's underneath — so the past stops running the present.
A real person on the other side of the screen.
Stacey Damkohler, MA · LPC · LCMHC · NCC · CCMHC
I'm an EMDR-trained trauma therapist and the founder of this practice. Over 5 years and 7,000+ hours of clinical work — outpatient and telehealth — I've learned that people don't need more pep talks. They need a safe, structured space to go to the root of what's keeping them stuck.
If you've tried therapy before and it felt like talking in circles, you're in the right place. We'll go at a pace your nervous system can actually handle. No judgment. No performance. Just honest work.
Therapy that meets you where you actually are.
Sessions happen over private, HIPAA-compliant video — built around real life, not a waiting room.
Teens
Anxiety, depression, social stress, and trauma — in a space that's compassionate, structured, and actually theirs.
College Students
Academic stress, identity, low mood, and the pressure to feel "enough" during a season that moves too fast.
Young Adults
Life transitions, careers, relationships, and patterns you can see but can't seem to break. Let's change them.
High-Achieving Women
Painful relationship cycles, infidelity, self-sabotage, and the leftover weight of childhood trauma.
Families
Relational strain, communication that keeps missing, and building bonds that feel more secure.
EMDR: therapy that works with your brain, not against it.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is one of the most researched trauma therapies in the world — recommended by the WHO and the APA for PTSD. You don't have to retell every detail of what happened for it to work.

What is EMDR therapy, in plain language →We build safety first
History, goals, and coping skills — you'll never be rushed into anything you're not ready for.
Your brain reprocesses
Guided bilateral stimulation helps stuck memories get unstuck and refile as past — not present danger.
The charge fades
Triggers lose their grip. What happened becomes something that happened — not something happening.
No waiting room. No commute. Just a door you can close.

Things people ask before they book.
Does EMDR actually work over video? +
Yes. Telehealth EMDR uses the same bilateral stimulation techniques adapted for video — guided eye movements or self-tapping — and research supports its effectiveness. Many people find it easier to process in their own space.
Do I have to talk about everything that happened? +
No. That's one reason people choose EMDR. Your brain does the reprocessing; you don't need to narrate every detail of a memory out loud for it to lose its charge.
Will my insurance cover this? +
We're in-network with Cigna, Aetna, BCBS and other major plans. Booking runs through Headway, which verifies your coverage and shows your cost before your first session.
I'm a parent — how does this work for my teen? +
Parents are involved at intake and as clinically appropriate, while your teen gets a confidential space of their own. We'll walk you through consent and communication expectations up front.
What states can you see me in? +
Stacey is licensed to see residents of New Jersey, Virginia, and North Carolina. You just need to be physically located in one of those states during your session.
